Burbank pair reaps honor
SOFTBALL:  Bulldogs Peraza and Beltran rewarded for fine seasons with All-LA 84 first team awards.
By Jeff Tully, The Burbank Leader, Wed. July 2, 2008
  • "With one season remaining in her high school career, Peraza is turning out to be one of the most successful pitchers in Bulldogs history.  Along with earning All-Area honors, she is three time all-league selection, as she made the first team last season and was a second team choice in 2006."
  • "'Kristin was definitely the difference for us,' Burbank Coach Nicole Drabecki said.  'We relied on her a lot to get the job done for us and she really came through.  She is a very good pitcher.'  Peraza has emerged as the program's most successful pitcher since Debby Day played for the Bulldogs in the 1980s.  Day was a three-time All-CIF selection who went on to earn All-American honors at the University of Arizona.  In 1991, she helped lead the Wildcats to the NCAA championship."
